Prophyl S 1 L

Prophyl® S is a disinfectant designed to ensure biosecurity on the farm. Prophyl® S is capable of killing coccidia, cryptosporidia, mycobacteria, fungi, viruses and bacteria, and is effective even in the presence of organic matter. Prophyl® S can be used by spraying and soaking. For professional use only.

Use is permitted exclusively for the control of:

• bacteria (excluding bacterial spores), mycobacteria, yeasts, fungi, viruses and parasitic protozoa on hard surfaces in animal housing and associated rooms, excluding vehicles used to transport animals;
• bacteria (excluding mycobacteria and bacterial spores) and yeasts in footwear disinfection baths.

Directions for use:
Hard surfaces in animal housing and associated rooms
Clean surfaces thoroughly beforehand with a suitable cleaning agent and then rinse with clean water. Remove excess water. Dilute Prophyl S in water according to the desired effect. Disinfect by spraying the solution at low pressure at a rate of 100 ml/m2 until the liquid runs off the surfaces. Allow to act for the specified contact time.
General safety instructions:
Wear gloves, protective clothing and eye/face protection when mixing and loading the product. Do not apply to surfaces that come into contact with food or feed. Clean application equipment with water. Do not re-enter the rooms until the product has dried. Rinse treated surfaces that may come into contact with animals with water.
Bacteria and yeasts
Dosage: 0.6% v/v (add water to 6 ml of product to make 1 litre)
Contact time: 120 minutes
Protection during application: gloves and protective clothing.
Mycobacteria and fungi
Dosage: 1.5% v/v (add water to 15 ml of product to make 1 litre)
Contact time: 120 minutes
Protection during application: gloves and protective clothing.
Viruses
Dosage: 4% v/v (add water to 40 ml of product to make 1 litre)
Contact time: 120 minutes
Protection during application: gloves, protective clothing and respiratory protection (protection factor 4).
Parasitic protozoa
Dosage: 5% v/v (add water to 50 ml of product to make 1 litre)
Contact time: 120 minutes
Protection during application: gloves, protective clothing and respiratory protection (protection factor 4).

Footwear disinfection
Ensure that the footwear disinfection baths have a capacity of approximately 10 to 15 l and a minimum depth of 10 cm. Fill the footwear disinfection baths with Prophyl S solution for use and place them at the entrance to each building in a location sheltered from adverse weather conditions. Immerse the previously cleaned (brushed) soles of the shoes in the foot disinfection bath. Allow the solution to act for 1 minute at a temperature of at least 10°C. Replace the solution after 100 pairs of shoes or when visibly contaminated. Due to environmental risks, solution for use in a footwear disinfection bath must not be prepared more than once per week.
