How does it work?

During the day, flies can be found in sheds, barns and/or buildings looking for food (manure, livestock feed and organic matter in general). At night, the flies leave these spaces in search of the perfect conditions for resting. As they move from day to night, the flies are attracted by the irresistible scent of the bait in the FlyNip Fly Trap and fly into the trap. The bait is made from fermented yeast and ingredients from the food industry. The trap’s unique, patented one-way openings are designed so that once the flies have flown inside, they cannot escape. The trapped flies will decompose in the trap, making it even more attractive to new flies.

The trap

Correctly fit the six one-way openings into the trap. Fill the trap with the 240 grams of bait supplied and add 6 litres of water. Attach the lid and place the trap at a height of 1.50 metres. Position it 10–15 metres from the area you want to keep fly-free. If using multiple traps, space them 15 metres apart. The trap should be placed in the sun and out of the wind (e.g. not near fans). The trap is ready to use! When the trap is full of flies, you can remove them using a sieve and add more water if necessary.

Effective for up to 60 days! 

REUSABLE/REFILLABLE

When the trap has been used up, empty it and refill it with fresh bait and water (click here for new bait). The contents can simply be disposed of with household waste.
