Excellent Horse Snuffle Mat – natural challenge and anti-boredom

The Excellent Horse Snuffle Mat is an innovative feeding mat specially developed to mentally challenge horses and ponies and stimulate their natural foraging behavior. By hiding feed or snacks within the structure of the mat, the horse must actively search and work to eat everything. This ensures more calm, distraction, and enrichment in the daily routine. The snuffle mat is ideal for combating boredom in the stable, paddock, or trailer and offers a playful way to reward horses. Thanks to the soft material, the mat is also suitable for sensitive horse noses.

How it works & background

In nature, horses spend a large part of the day searching for food. In a modern stable environment, this natural activity is often missing, which can lead to boredom or unwanted behavior.

The Snuffle Mat addresses this by:

• slowing down eating (slow feeding)
• getting the horse to actively search
• providing mental stimulation

As a result, not only is the feeding time extended, but the horse's well-being and relaxation are improved.

Suitable for

• Horses that get bored easily
• Horses on stable rest or limited movement
• Sport horses (mental relaxation)
• Young horses (learning through play)
• Use during transport or in the trailer

Usage

Place the snuffle mat on a flat surface and fill it with, for example:

• pellets or muesli
• mash
• pieces of fruit or vegetables
• snacks or rewards

Let the horse search and eat for itself. After use, the mat can easily be rinsed off and hung up to dry.
