Direct Calcium 12 x 94 g

Direct Calcium Bolus
Dietary feed for dairy cows in bolus form to supplement calcium during the period around calving to reduce the risk of milk fever and subclinical hypocalcemia.
Contains a combination of 2 highly absorbable forms of calcium, calcium formate and calcium acetate, and provides 25 grams of available calcium per bolus.

Why a calcium bolus
Shortly before or after calving, a dairy cow can develop a shortage of calcium reserves in the blood because the demand for calcium increases sharply around calving. If the cow cannot replenish this reserve quickly enough, the calcium blood level can become too low, resulting in visible milk fever symptoms such as reduced appetite and activity, cold ears, and poorly functioning skeletal and organ muscles. However, in a larger group (40-50%), no immediate symptoms are visible, but the low calcium level can still have consequences later in lactation.

The Direct Calcium Bolus is an easy-to-administer gelatin capsule that dissolves quickly in the rumen, so that the contents of calcium formate and calcium acetate are also released rapidly. Due to the high absorbability of both forms of calcium, the calcium quickly becomes available to the cow. This ensures a gradual rise in the calcium level, which is maintained for a longer period of time.

The perfect choice for every dairy farmer to supplement calcium in dairy cows, for an optimal start to lactation!
