The D-Bolus is a bicarbonate pill used as a feed supplement for calves. It has been specially developed as a dietary feed to stabilize the water and electrolyte balance in the calf's body and support physiological digestion. This is important because a good balance of these substances is essential for the calf's health.
One of the most important benefits of the D-Bolus is that it can increase the desire to drink in calves with diarrhea. When calves suffer from diarrhea, they lose not only fluids but also buffers, which causes a decrease in acidity. An additional effect of this is that the desire to drink also decreases. This can cause the calf to become weaker and weaker and even risk death. The D-Bolus provides an important buffer with bicarbonate. D-Bolus is therefore perfect for increasing the desire to drink.
The D-Bolus contains 10% more bicarbonate than similar pills and is in a special fast-dissolving gelatin capsule, allowing for faster absorption and a quicker effect. This makes it a more effective solution than similar products. The D-Bolus is easy to administer with a pill gun.
The bolus is also ideal for buffering acidity in sheep and goats. It can be used as a dietary feed to reduce the risk of acidosis (rumen acidosis) and can also be used here to stimulate the desire to drink.
Feeding advice:
Calves:
Stimulating the desire to drink in diarrhea: At the first signs of digestive disorders, give 1 D-Bolus per calf and then 1 D-Bolus before each feeding for 1-2 days.
Reducing post-birth acidosis: Administer 1 D-Bolus immediately after birth.
Sheep and goats:
Stimulating the desire to drink: Twice daily 1 D-Bolus for 1-2 days.
Reducing the risk of rumen acidosis: Administer 2 D-Boluses simultaneously and repeat after 12 hours.
