Testing the fence
Hang the hook of the fence tester on the fence and lightly push the copper tip into the ground.
A short circuit is simulated on the fence, the same situation as when an animal touches it.

Hold the hook and the copper tip against the device's terminals; there is no need to worry about polarity. You can immediately see how much output the device provides.
